My Approach

My approach to therapy is solution-focused and interactive. I am not here to “fix” you or to “treat” you.

Therapy is a journey that we take together. Together, we explore the challenges that life has thrown your way as well as options that may suggest new pathways to dealing with these challenges - options that are best suited to the person that you are, and we are all different.

The road may be bumpy at times and in my 30 years of therapy work I have accumulated many concrete life tools that may be helpful to your journey and that I will be happy to share with you.

I am well acquainted with all the major “approaches” to therapy but I prefer to strive for the combination of strategies that will work best for you, which will often require following a road less traveled rather than following a cookbook.

I promise that I will work as hard as I can for my part, but you need to be willing to roll up your sleeves and get in there with me: I am convinced that if we work together on this journey we can get you to a less painful, and hopefully happier place - whatever the challenges that brought you to my office in the first place.
